I've been at a loss on what to post on this page. For many years you guys followed me as we were missionaries. After we resigned and Marty took the church here in Chillicothe, I kinda felt like I didn't have anything interesting to post about. <div><br></div><div>But, then I got to thinking about why I started this page to begin with. It was to share my thoughts and insights on things. I still have thoughts, we are just in a different place. I've decided to take back up posting on here. </div><div><br></div><div>We live in rural America, and I love it! I'll be sharing about of our life here in Chillicothe, Missouri, and my life as a pastors wife and stay at home mom. </div><div><br></div><div>I hope you all stick around! I think it'll be fun!</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-size: small;"> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> Today I thought I would do a book review. I don't think I have ever done one on here. Reading is something I enjoy doing. I'm looking forward to summer break so I can get some more reading in. :) </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> I had a friend of mine give me book last Sunday. I ate it up! This is the type of book that you need a highlighter and a pen. I found myself reading parts of it out loud to Marty. He enjoyed it as well. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> I honestly haven't read too many ladies ministry books. I don't know why, I just haven't.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> Women's Ministry Insights by Julia Bettencourt, is the book I would like to talk about today. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJRLGXENBQPdKst4KJ41hYrXB6GHi3AP1UbsmMtEb966aBAkoM8A72kljM40IydPOOnsNji4PXMHMcAUDcJpcngIdgwlJXm0Jwl5lmMcYC81KFIffN2SycmlcDxbIQapFVNeYa9oTYlHd6/s1600/IMG_20200424_094142.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJRLGXENBQPdKst4KJ41hYrXB6GHi3AP1UbsmMtEb966aBAkoM8A72kljM40IydPOOnsNji4PXMHMcAUDcJpcngIdgwlJXm0Jwl5lmMcYC81KFIffN2SycmlcDxbIQapFVNeYa9oTYlHd6/s320/IMG_20200424_094142.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: small;"> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> This book will challenge you as a lady in the local church. It is geared toward ministry leaders, but I believe it could be a blessing to any lady. I was challenged in my thinking, and moved from my comfort zone, which is when growth will happen. I want to grow as a Christian and a pastors wife. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;"> I'm going to share a little section that hit home for me! </span> </span></div>

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">WOW!! JUST WOW!! What an awesome thought!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Womens-Ministry-Insights-ministry-leaders/dp/B0863TFX4F/ref=sr_1_2?crid=WDZPQB5ZOY3M&dchild=1&keywords=julia+bettencourt&qid=1587741315&sprefix=Julia+Bett%2Caps%2C1076&sr=8-2" target="_blank"> Here</a> is a link to buy the book. I really encourage you get it and read it. I have shared a few copies with fellow pastors wives, that I thought would enjoy it.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> We should be encouraging one another to grow in Christ. We as women can at times be pretty judgemental towards other ladies. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> One thing the author points out in the book is that every person has their own priorities. We shouldn't judge another lady just because her priorities are different than mine! Just because they are different, doesn't mean they are wrong! How easily and quickly we judge on priorities! Our priorities change with the stage of life that we are in. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> We should lift each other up, and encourage them to keep on being faithful to the Lord and to serve where they are. </span><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: 14px;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Looking back over the ministries we have had the privilege to work in, I can say that there have been plenty of times that we have just had to just walk on and say yes. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm going to very transparent in this blog post. Some of our struggles have been very real and raw. Some I have shared, some I have not and may never share. So, today I thought I would share some of my heart with you all. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Greenland was our first place of service. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCyCvQ1l2b_iRxjXhGXKXDx-5_7MUm1FlWpyScDTnlr4m22wlgfdhQ1MlgOqzYKNi4rsvM2PUT1uvT_UIXdURBZCGmZgmqhLT4lRsWupbT3V7gMR2AaG-6RzNWdP60TrXs-20VBA7yGrii/s1600/574490_610097905707023_980567196_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="960" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCyCvQ1l2b_iRxjXhGXKXDx-5_7MUm1FlWpyScDTnlr4m22wlgfdhQ1MlgOqzYKNi4rsvM2PUT1uvT_UIXdURBZCGmZgmqhLT4lRsWupbT3V7gMR2AaG-6RzNWdP60TrXs-20VBA7yGrii/s320/574490_610097905707023_980567196_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We were in Greenland for three years. We have many good memories, and to be perfectly honest, some very bad memories of Greenland. Marty and I left Greenland as broken people... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span jsname="YS01Ge" style="font-size: 14px; text-align: left;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i><u><span jsname="YS01Ge" style="text-align: left;">Alone and broken hearted, questions fill your mind.</span><br style="text-align: left;" /><span jsname="YS01Ge" style="text-align: left;">Changes can be hard that come by God's design.</span></u></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This part of the verse perfectly describes how we were. We felt very much alone and broken hearted. Satan had crept in and told us that no one cared and that we were alone in our feelings. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We struggled for years! Looking back, we could see the Lord working. But, at the time, our pain was real, as was our distrust in others. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We tried for a long time to get into Denmark, and even back into Greenland. I remember being completely overwhelmed at the thought of going back to Greenland. I confided in a dear friend and just cried at the thought of going back to the place that had caused so much hurt in our lives. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i><u><br /></u></i></div>
<i><u><span jsname="YS01Ge"><div style="text-align: center;">
When God has another plan, be assured that He knows best.</div>
</span><span jsname="YS01Ge"><div style="text-align: center;">
When all your dreams are shattered, rest in His sufficient grace.</div>
</span></u></i></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><u>We don't have to understand, when God has another plan<span style="text-align: center;">.</span></u></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had to learn how to rest in God's grace. Our identity was wrapped up in that fact that we were Arctic missionaries. Our dreams had been shattered. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then God lead us to Hungary! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Marty and I both firmly believe that God lead us to Hungary to help us heal, and to help us to mature in the ministry. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Hungary. I loved the towns, the people and the culture. I would love to visit Hungary again one day. We were in Hungary for two years. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We came home on furlough with every intention on returning to Hungary. </div>

If you would have asked Marty a little over a year ago if he would ever pastor a church, in Missouri, He would have thought you were crazy. :) But, God began to work in his heart and our lives once again. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well, today marks a year that Marty has been pastoring, in Missouri! :) </div>

Grace Baptist Church had been without a pastor for many years. We have known the church since Maryanna was a baby! </div>

We love the people here.</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I would like to encourage you to keep on plugging along for the Lord. No, we don't always understand, but we can trust our Savior to lead in our lives. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This Friday marks two weeks not being on my social media. I started out this year with the mindset of "being intentional" when I got on my social media accounts. Basically, have a reason why I was going on them, not just mindlessly scrolling. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Two weeks ago I noticed that I was having more and more days where I honestly just felt sad. I couldn't put my finger on it, at the time. I began to evaluate the things in my life. I was doing my daily devotions, and prayer time. But, I had noticed it was just lacking. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
One morning I finished up my devotions, which were taking anywhere from 15-20 minutes. I then caught myself on facebook. Before I knew it more than 30 minutes had past!! I was spending more time mindlessly scrolling on facebook than I was with my Lord. It's painful to admit that, but it's true. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I know there is proper balance to these things. For me, I have chosen to stay off Facebook, for now. I can testify and say, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
my walk with The Lord is sweet once again, and my joy has been restored. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Social media has its place in our society. But, I would like to say that, if you rush through your time with the Lord, just to see what everyone else is up to, it will have a negative effect on you. I found myself being easily irritated at my family and situations around me. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I know not everyone deals with things like this. But, if you do, know that you aren't alone. And there is a solution to the problem. For me, it's to completely cut it out for now. For you it may not be that, it may be to just scale your time down on social media. I would love to hear your thoughts on the subject of social media, and how it effects you! </div>

With the New Year comes new goals. One of my goals is to be more organized in my home. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> So far, so good. :) The main thing that I have incorporated in our daily routine is the one touch rule. The one touch rule is simple. Remember teaching your children that once they were done with something to put it away, that's the one touch rule. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> As an example, you just got home from running errands. You take your shoes off and leave them where they lay. Then throw your things on the nearest piece of furniture. You think, I'll put it away later. Well, later comes in a couple of days, when you are scrambling to find something that is now buried in the pile that has accumulated. </span><br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgL1YFvZ8XNgxz9WGYC8UFr36d0MSiJa2xISTzyjXz5YJYsTFWA1eRrDCR7VH-1tDliAhS8rXT6F2iyL96xZmz1O7_joQfrfcMJnuE9dIl2EQIeMjsrZp0hax5RfUcsM11dkKCuXchCN05f/s1600/images.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="185" data-original-width="272" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgL1YFvZ8XNgxz9WGYC8UFr36d0MSiJa2xISTzyjXz5YJYsTFWA1eRrDCR7VH-1tDliAhS8rXT6F2iyL96xZmz1O7_joQfrfcMJnuE9dIl2EQIeMjsrZp0hax5RfUcsM11dkKCuXchCN05f/s1600/images.jpg" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Don't be like this poor lady! :) </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> It could have all been avoided if you would have picked up those shoes and put them in their place. Or hung up that coat in the closet or on the coat rack. It doesn't take that much more effort to put things where they belong right away. </span><br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> For me, it goes a step further. How about those household chores that many dread? Laundry and dishes are two of the most dreaded household chores. I'm and oddball and actually enjoy doing both of these. :) You can apply the one touch rule to these two chores as well. How? It's simple, see the chore through all the way. Here's what I mean. You start the load of laundry and you see it through. You wash, dry and fold, all in one day! Don't let it pile up. Same with the dishes, wash, dry, put away! I do dishes several times a day, but at the end of the day, I'm left with a nice clean kitchen. There might be a cup or plate or two hanging out in the sink from the end of the night, but not a giant pile of dishes.</span><br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3NwzYvKQsagE8ZH_6b42bcGxYM0McQdt44DeZxeJO4ADTBYmJ6f4ZiKUJ19nonLfPidxvmOnkvmgrDDWnezP_1E7v5SyK9ojjbS92Qp9XzGAzBEcS06IVzA_clQgrAadzXVcDZMKipaCQ/s1600/595.-CLUTTER-10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="550" data-original-width="550" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3NwzYvKQsagE8ZH_6b42bcGxYM0McQdt44DeZxeJO4ADTBYmJ6f4ZiKUJ19nonLfPidxvmOnkvmgrDDWnezP_1E7v5SyK9ojjbS92Qp9XzGAzBEcS06IVzA_clQgrAadzXVcDZMKipaCQ/s320/595.-CLUTTER-10.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">This, a million time this!!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Another thing to conider is that when you do the one touch rule, you actually see what you use on a daily basis, and you can declutter from there. If it hasn't been used in a while, get rid of it! It's just taking up space. Also, if you go to put things away and you don't have space for the things you use, it's also a good idea to declutter. </span><br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7_RDa985GhytwMlBS7Xbig_Dt3dL7lS8do6DLKORzW_7dTgLpIt_AZYB6zcyAT08iId6ZHCU7oU0of1fpl3iBmHDNcz2tJFWeaCD14CeQWb35wJw6q6kE8yp5SbwPBdodkEkGVlzUVDnQ/s1600/declutter+quote.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="299" data-original-width="168" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7_RDa985GhytwMlBS7Xbig_Dt3dL7lS8do6DLKORzW_7dTgLpIt_AZYB6zcyAT08iId6ZHCU7oU0of1fpl3iBmHDNcz2tJFWeaCD14CeQWb35wJw6q6kE8yp5SbwPBdodkEkGVlzUVDnQ/s1600/declutter+quote.jpg" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">A good rule!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"> Can I challenge you and encourage you to declutter something? Or organize an area in your home that needs it? I know I have a few areas in my home that need organized and declutterd! </span>MaseyArnoldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00549850679360762634noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1467038804097692591.post-92180237597341087402019-10-06T16:09:00.001-05:002019-10-06T18:29:22.251-05:00Titus 2 from my perspective.<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<span style="font-size: 16pt;">The
thoughts in Titus 2:3-5 are very challenging, at least to me.</span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
These are a few of my thought and beliefs on these verses. </div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<ol start="3">
<li><span style="font-size: medium;">The aged women likewise,
that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers,
not given to much wine, teachers of good things;</span><br />
</li>
<li><span style="font-size: medium;">That they may teach the
young women to be sober, to love their husbands,to love their
children,</span><br />
</li>
<li><span style="font-size: medium;">To be discreet, chaste,
keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word
of God be not blasphemed. </span>
<br />
</li>
</ol>
<span style="font-size: 16pt;">I would like to break down
these verses and show you how, if you follow these few things, your
life as a wife, mother, daughter and a Christian will be sweet.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 16pt;">Verse three starts out,
“The aged women likewise...” Aged here isn't necessarily talking
about age, as in an older lady. Aged could also mean experienced.
Granted with age comes experience. I have more knowledge and wisdom
now, in my 30's, than in my 20's. That being said, I have some
knowledge that I can share with the younger ladies. I'm a young
pastors wife with a few older ladies in our church. I can learn for
these ladies because they have lived through things that I haven't.
We should be willing to learn from those older than we are, whether
that means they are numerically older or just wiser in an area we
lack in.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
“<span style="font-size: medium;">That
they be in behaviour as becometh holiness...” </span>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-size: medium;">If you are a mom, I'm sure
at one point or another you have told your child to behave. When we
traveled as missionaries, before we got out of the car at a church, I
would remind my little ones to behave. They understood what I meant.
I wanted them to act in a certain manner. Our behavior often defines
who we are. Let that sink in. :) How many times have you seen
someone, just in passing, at a store and you made an instant judgment
on them because of the way they were acting? I know I have. I may not
know this person at all, but seeing their actions makes an impression
on us. Our behavior matters. Most importantly, our behavior when it
comes to spiritual things. Are we lax with our spiritual life? Our
children see our behavior and and, like it or not, they will emulate
what they see mom do. Make living a holy life the most distinguished
quality about you. People around will notice and it will have an
impact on them. </span>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a>“<span style="font-size: medium;">Not
false accusers...” </span>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-size: medium;">This one speaks for itself.
The definition of accuser is:</span><br />
<div style="font-weight: normal;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">A
person who claims that someone has committed an offense or done
something wrong. </span>
</div>
<div style="font-weight: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-weight: normal;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">Don't
go around as a talebearer, or a false accuser. Someone who goes
around and tells lies about others, thinking they are making
themselves look good. </span>
</div>
<div style="font-weight: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: 16pt;">Proverbs
has a lot to say about being a talebearer.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: 16pt;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-weight: normal;">
</div>
<div style="font-weight: normal;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">Proverbs
11:3 A Talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful
spirit concealeth the matter.</span></div>
<div style="font-weight: normal;">
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="font-weight: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><span style="color: #001320;"> <span style="font-family: "times new roman" , serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><span style="font-style: normal;">Proverbs
18:8 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into
the innermost parts of the belly.</span></span> </span></span>
</span></div>
<div style="font-weight: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , serif;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , serif;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: medium;">This
is a great example on why gossip and talebearing is bad. You will
make yourself look like a fool and those you gossip about will be
hurt and it will be very hard to gain that trust back. </span></span>
</div>
<div style="font-weight: normal;">
<br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">The
tongue is a little member but extremely hard to control. But, with
God's help and the examples we have in the Bible, we can control what
we say, and how we say it.</span></div>
<div style="font-weight: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">I'm
going to use my children as another example. Sometimes kids can be
cruel with their words. I tell my children to be careful what they
say and also how they say it. Both are very important.</span></div>
<div style="font-weight: normal;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="font-weight: normal; text-align: center;">
“<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Not
given to much wine...”</span></span></div>
<div style="font-weight: normal;">
<br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: 15pt;">My
husband recently finished up a two part message about wine, and how
it's not biblical. The whole, “Mommy needs to unwind with a glass
of wine,” has made alcohol a “normal” part of motherhood. It is
sad to see that moms have the “need” to turn to wine when they
have had a stressful day. I get it, some days the kids can be a
handful. But, that does not excuse the use of wine. Some have the
mentality, Well, one glass of wine before bed won't hurt anything.
But, if you start with one glass, soon you have an addiction in your
life. The Bible has a lot to say about wine.</span></div>
<div style="font-weight: normal;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">I
will list out a few verses for you to check out on your own. </span></span>
</div>
<div style="line-height: 0.23in; margin-bottom: 0.1in;">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">Ephesians
5:18</span></div>
<div style="line-height: 0.23in; margin-bottom: 0.1in;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">Proverbs
20:1</span></div>
<div style="line-height: 0.23in; margin-bottom: 0.1in;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">Romans
14:21</span></div>
<div style="line-height: 0.23in; margin-bottom: 0.1in;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">Proverbs
31:4</span></div>
<div style="line-height: 0.23in; margin-bottom: 0.1in;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">Proverbs
21:17</span></div>
<div style="line-height: 0.23in; margin-bottom: 0.1in;">
<br />
<span style="text-align: center;"> “</span><span style="font-size: 15pt; text-align: center;">Teachers
of good things;”</span></div>
<div style="line-height: 0.23in; margin-bottom: 0.1in;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">This
phrase is an interesting one. Teachers of good things. What good
things? </span>
</div>
<div style="line-height: 0.23in; margin-bottom: 0.1in;">
<br />
<span style="font-size: 15pt;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Well,
we are going to do a little grammar lesson here. If you look at the
end of that phrase you will see a semicolon. A semicolon indicates a
pause between two main clauses, that is more pronounced than that
indicated by a comma. Basically, really stop and think about what's
coming up next! I love that the Bible doesn't leave us to guess what
we are supposed to teach to others. God gives us clear direction</span>.</span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: center;">
“<span style="font-size: medium;">That
they may teach the young women to be sober,”</span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">Sober
here isn't referring to not being drunk. It's referring to be being
level headed, sober-minded, sensible and logical. These are things
that every lady should be. We are known to be emotional creatures.
Which isn't a bad thing, God gave us emotions. We just need to be
taught to control them. Controlling our emotions is a lifelong
endeavor. But, it makes it a lot easier if they are taught to control
them at a young age. Teach them to think things through, not to just
react. Reacting to things around us is a natural thing. How we react
is something that we have to work on. </span>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">I
tell my kids to think before they speak. And to ask themselves, Does
this really need to be said at all? I have to remind them almost
daily that they don't have to say everything that pops up their mind.
</span>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: center;">
“<span style="font-size: medium;">To love their husbands,”</span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">I
have a sign that hangs in our living room that says, “Home, so much
of what we learn of love, we learn at home.” This statement is so
true. Our kids learn from Mom and Dad and they take what they learn
and incorporate it in with their families one day. This means the
good and, unfortunately, sometimes the bad. </span>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">My
kids see how I interact with Marty, and how he interacts with me.
They see the hugs and the quick kiss. They've seen us serve one
another. They have seen us squabble, though in all honestly, it
doesn't happen that often, and never with yelling. We have had our
disagreements, but have never yelled at one another. You can have a
civil disagreement. :) I try to make sure that my girls see how to
be a help meet. I'm far from perfect! I will be the first to admit
that! No relationship is perfect, because no one is perfect. But, we
can strive to be the best we can in our relationship.</span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">How
do we teach our young ladies to love their husbands? The biggest way
we can is by example. The phrase, “Actions speak louder than
words”, is so true.</span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
“<span style="font-size: medium;">To
love their children,”</span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">To me, this is an odd thing
to have to teach. But, if you look at our world today you see so many
without natural affection. You would think that loving your own
children would be come naturally. Sadly, we live in a time where
children are unloved and are seen as a burden. It is challenging to
raise kids.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">Your children should never
be told they were a mistake or that you wished they were more like
someone else. God knew them before they were born and they were
fearfully and wonderfully made. Children are a gift from the Lord,
and should be treated as such. When someone gives you a gift you take
care of it, cherish it, and protect it. </span>
<br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">So, how do we teach them to
love their children? Once again, by example! If you, as a parent,
don't see life as precious gift, your children will, more than
likely, take it even farther. If we look at past generations and see
where their parents stood on certain issues, you will find that the
next generation has taken it even farther. Abortion is what I'm
referring to. How sad it is that we live in a world where a full
term baby can be murdered! Teaching our children that life is
precious is more important now than ever. </span>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
“<span style="font-size: medium;">To
be discreet,”</span></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">Discreet is defines as:
Having or showing discernment or good judgment in conduct and
especially in speech.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: 16pt;">To be discreet requires
humility. It also requires you to stop and think about what you are
about to say, and the way it comes out. We are sometimes quick to
say what we are thinking without thinking about it.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">I think about Esther and
the way she handled herself all throughout the book of Esther. She is
a great example on how to be discreet. I would challenge you to read
the book of Esther and see all the different ways she practiced
discretion. </span>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
“<span style="font-size: medium;">Chaste”</span></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div align="CENTER">
<span style="font-size: medium;">Chaste: P</span><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><span style="color: #232323;"><span style="font-family: "raleway" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><span style="font-style: normal;"><span style="font-weight: normal;">ure
from all unlawful commerce of sexes. Applied to persons before
marriage, it signifies pure from all sexual commerce, undefiled;
applied to married persons, true to the marriage bed.</span></span></span></span></span>
</span></div>
<div align="CENTER">
<br />
<br /></div>
<span style="font-size: medium;">Sometimes this subject can
awkward to talk about, but it is much needed. In our world today sex
is looked at as a casual thing. When in all actuality, it is not. It
is to be reserved for those who are married. God intended for the
marriage bed to be something honorable, not something that is taken
and twisted. </span>
<br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is
honorable in all things, and the bed undeflied: but whoremongers and
adulterers God will judge. </span>
<br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">I believe this verse
makes it crystal clear about God's thoughts on the subject of being
chaste. </span>
<br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">Teaching your young ladies
and young men to save themselves for marriage will save them from a
lot of heartache. They have the world telling them that it's no big
deal, and everyone does it. The world has a strong pull sometimes on
our young people. That's when we, as parents, have to have our
children's hearts. To have your child's heart takes work and lots and
lots of love. </span>
<br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">With intimacy comes a
emotional attachment, as God intended. If your young person isn't
taught that they should save themselves for marriage then, they are
slowly but surely, giving little pieces of their emotions to people
they have no intention of marrying. No wonder we have so many young
people dealing with so many different emotional issues. </span>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
“<span style="font-size: medium;">keepers
at home,”</span></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">Being a keeper of my home
is one of my favorite things to do! I love to clean and keep things
tidy. Having your kids do chores will build character and will help
them be able to take care of themselves when they leave home. Just as
an example, my guys do all their own laundry. They wash, dry and put
them away. My guys also have the chore of cleaning their rooms,
granted they do have to be reminded. :) They have other chores they
do as well.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">Chores are good for your
kids! You can start chores at an early age. Most two and three year
old kids can follow simple directions. So, with a little help, they
can do basic things. Like, help make their bed, clean up their own
toys. My guys would help set silverware on the table, was it nice and
neat, no, but it gave them a chore to do. As they get older the
chores should change and be added on to. </span>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">Women are to be keepers at
home. But that doesn't mean that boys shouldn't learn a few thing
along the way also. I believe a young man should be able to fix his
own food, do his own laundry, and keep his space clean. There may be
a time in his life where he has to do those things, and he needs to
learn them. Also he can better help out his future wife as well.</span><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
“<span style="font-size: medium;">Good”</span></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">Teaching our children good.
Is it being good or doing good? I believe it is both. We often focus
on our kids being good, but what about doing good? I have told my
kids on numerous occasions to be good. What do I mean when I tell
them this? I want them to behave in a proper way in every situation. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">Sometimes being good is hard. :) You kids deal with temptation, just
like everyone else. No kid is perfect. Sometimes being bad is way
more fun than being good. But, that is where having a good character
comes in to play.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">How about doing good? Doing
good is the act. We want our children to do good. We want them to do
good to others and for others. </span>
<br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">The running theme of this
whole thing has been to lead by example. If we, as mothers and
fathers aren't leading by example, your kids will likely use that as
an excuse. “Well, Mom or Dad didn't do that, why should I?” or
“Mom and Dad did do that and I want to as well.” This can apply
to both good and bad things. </span>
<br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">There is always someone
watching your life. You may not see them or know who they are, but I
can promise you, someone is watching. So, Mom, Dad do good and be
good. :) </span>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
“<span style="font-size: medium;">obedient
to their own husbands,”</span></div>
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">I like this phrase! I know,
I know, obedience is sometimes hard. Some may think, “I'm not going
to obey a man!” <b>Side note, a man that is a dictator in his home
is obeyed out of fear and not love or respect.</b> I believe that the
wife should respect her husband, not out of fear but out of love.
Okay, I'm done chasing that rabbit. :) </span>
<br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">But if you think about
this phrase for a moment, it actually takes a huge load off us
ladies! Some see obedience as a bad thing when it comes to the
husband and wife relationship, but it's actually a beautiful thing.
As a Christian and a wife I fall under two main authorities in my
life, Christ and my husband. Both of these authorities in my life are
loving and kind. I'm told to obey my own husband, not someone elses
husband. To me, this is great! What Marty may allow may not be what
other men allow, but you know what, that's ok. </span>
<br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">Marty and I have a sweet
relationship. I have no problem doing what he asks, because I love
him and respect him. Another big thing is, that I know he loves and
respects me as well. I'm one of those wives who will tell you, “Let
me ask my husband first.” Not because I can't think for myself, but
because he is an authority in my life and I check with him first.
This comes back to the respect aspect of this. </span>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
“<span style="font-size: medium;">that
the word of God be not blasphemed.”</span></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-size: medium;">I find this last part
interesting. After giving a big list of things that the aged men and
women should teach the younger people he ends it with this phrase.
Why?</span><br />
<div align="CENTER">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">Blasphemed is
defined: speak irreverently about God or </span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">sacred things.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div>
<div align="LEFT">
<span style="font-size: medium;">God made no
mistakes when the Bible was being written. So for Him to use such a
strong word as blasphemed should make us stop and take notice. We are
instructed to teach these things that the word of God be not
blasphemed. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">Raising children is hard. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">Proverbs 22:6 comes to mind; </span>
</div>
<div align="LEFT">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><i>Train up a
child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart
from it. </i></span>
</div>
<div align="LEFT" style="font-style: normal;">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">It
all comes down to the passing down the knowledge of God and his
holiness to the younger generation. Seeing our children get saved and
serve the Lord. These things that were listed are vital in the
spiritual growth of the younger generation. If we do not teach them,
they won't know. Marty always says, “You only know what you've been
taught.” Teaching and learning these things is a lifelong thing. No
one has “arrived.” :) </span>
</div>
<div align="LEFT" style="font-style: normal;">
</div>
<div align="LEFT" style="font-style: normal;">
</div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">These are my blessings that I'm responsible to train up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.</span><br />

You hear about Spring cleaning, but what a deep clean in the Fall? I enjoy cleaning, I find it very therapeutic. Having a tidy home is important to me. I find myself cleaning like a mad woman when I'm stressed or frustrated about something. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I came across this Fall cleaning list, and I really like it. I'm going to start working on this list each day after school. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's always more fun to do things like this with other people. So, who wants to clean along with me?</div>

I realized the other day that I never updated you all on our move!<br />
<br />
As you know, we lived in Hungary as missionaries, and we came home on furlough. During that furlough, due to several different things, we knew the Lord was calling us back home to America.<br />
<br />
So, in March, Marty officially resigned as a missionary. Talk about an adjustment! We have been missionaries almost all of our married life, going on 17 years!!<br />
<br />
Marty began calling supporting churches to let them know about us resigning. One of the first churches he called was Grace Baptist Church in Chillicothe, Missouri. You see, Grace Baptist church has always had a special place in our hearts. We couldn't explain it, but of all our supporting churches this one always stuck out to us. Not saying we didn't appreciate all of our other supporting churches, this one was just special to us. We have known the people here ever since Eli was two and Maryanna was a baby, so at least 12 years! They had been without a pastor for nearly 5 years. <br />
<br />
Before Marty called them, we prayed that if this was the church we were to be at that Bro. Snow, the deacon, would bring it up. Low and behold he did! He asked Marty to pray about coming up to candidate.<br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
We took some time to pray about Marty canidating there, and on March 31st he did. The church took two weeks to pray. Then at the beginning of April the church called Marty to be the new pastor. We were beyond excited! Our first service was April 21st, Easter Sunday and also the churches 16th anniversary.<br />

We got busy looking for housing. We traveled up every weekend from Arkansas, which was about a 5 hour drive. Thankfully, The Lord opened up housing very quickly, and on April 28th, we secured the nicest house we have ever lived in.<br />

We went back down to Arkansas to begin packing up our house. We packed it up in two days! Granted, I had a majority of it packed up already. We left Arkansas the night of April 30th, and got home here in Chillicothe on May 1st, at 3 am, during an awful rain storm. We have a running joke in our family, that every time, and I mean every time we move, the weather is awful! <br />

We have now been here for four months now! The time has flown by. We have settled in nicely and have enjoyed serving alongside our church family. It has been odd not traveling as much, but we have enjoyed having a place to call home and a place to serve. <br />

Sewing is something I enjoy doing but don't do very often. My kids are heading to camp in a few weeks, so that means the girls needed new culottes! They are super simple to make yourself! I was curious as to how much they cost online, and the cheapest I found were $18, for one pair. But, I was able to get the material and supplies for right around $20, and I will get a few pairs of culottes made.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I thought I would put myself out there and show you guys how I make my girls culottes! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*DISCLAIMER* </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am by no means a seamstress. I know how to sew basic things. With that being said, ignore my not perfectly straight lines, and my nontechnical lingo! :) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Step 1~Materials! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You will need, fabric, elastic, scissors, pins, sewing machine, and a pair of basket ball shorts. I use the shorts as a pattern, they work great! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgM0yIS4s3oChYD3dr64nDZpklbPLv2_5-VUqkpRD1Uvw5oZPfQM9D9lZ93d4At3SLPvjVdAlntgPr8LbHTnAq8rNXKeVJAb9WKA8pvOYaLpgphqZT8czlZQ6KBFi_SDSDxMWQiJVlFH0m_/s1600/_DSC0167.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1064" data-original-width="1600" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgM0yIS4s3oChYD3dr64nDZpklbPLv2_5-VUqkpRD1Uvw5oZPfQM9D9lZ93d4At3SLPvjVdAlntgPr8LbHTnAq8rNXKeVJAb9WKA8pvOYaLpgphqZT8czlZQ6KBFi_SDSDxMWQiJVlFH0m_/s320/_DSC0167.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Step 2~Cutting!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Lay the shorts out on your fabric. Leave some room on the side for extra wide legs. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgob1_wy8BOKU7d6H1Oc6rLYBGuSxHhgnrpEUz25ljygrpZtIN-38BIUPdslJ3L1obIi4fgSGZGj_jRt90U5IiMc7OvoD7pAuBjd9-McQketfj4bpG9XOJwypw8ZDaFbvpOEZI_g2sOs83W/s1600/_DSC0168.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1064" data-original-width="1600" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgob1_wy8BOKU7d6H1Oc6rLYBGuSxHhgnrpEUz25ljygrpZtIN-38BIUPdslJ3L1obIi4fgSGZGj_jRt90U5IiMc7OvoD7pAuBjd9-McQketfj4bpG9XOJwypw8ZDaFbvpOEZI_g2sOs83W/s320/_DSC0168.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I cut about 2 inches longer than the shorts, just to give more length for hemming. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTuKz6idNmOAKzrzLg8_GMY7qmAc_V6olGdeXwCmtPLE7NT72k6frkgLpbcsFv_VQPHa5CQT4WZoQRYkWM0KBHF4RkpAV7jkvGh6GnfLK828oItGy4I1jo_uBpf5f_EYpMHBFbw_KflkFl/s1600/_DSC0170.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1064" data-original-width="1600" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTuKz6idNmOAKzrzLg8_GMY7qmAc_V6olGdeXwCmtPLE7NT72k6frkgLpbcsFv_VQPHa5CQT4WZoQRYkWM0KBHF4RkpAV7jkvGh6GnfLK828oItGy4I1jo_uBpf5f_EYpMHBFbw_KflkFl/s320/_DSC0170.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEnhKx-uN6junfK8MSVVZCUyJvggcXB-NSdyNG3BR0L4BOsoHOp7IkrbcqYN_rPOiy_S9put_qc-fdxGyqkTvEwAbcWlPW21JwSE1nTCkkgKhbt-JwdgNxS5AHk98iRjyY_YMDXPa4XWgU/s1600/_DSC0171.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1064" data-original-width="1600" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEnhKx-uN6junfK8MSVVZCUyJvggcXB-NSdyNG3BR0L4BOsoHOp7IkrbcqYN_rPOiy_S9put_qc-fdxGyqkTvEwAbcWlPW21JwSE1nTCkkgKhbt-JwdgNxS5AHk98iRjyY_YMDXPa4XWgU/s320/_DSC0171.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Don't cut right up against the pattern. You will want the extra room! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7nuqbhD9M-af793ZXHBy6UAW-10xLcFxbAQddM9ksX13KfCMPVXk86SDP_uYi-FOH2ndsW7e14wBIvJV_CWXpx6rgYwtS3rjHOH6LT6QRtCXlvy3mgZlWKHn8QRnEk3c8apqSs2qT0zqq/s1600/_DSC0172.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1064" data-original-width="1600" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7nuqbhD9M-af793ZXHBy6UAW-10xLcFxbAQddM9ksX13KfCMPVXk86SDP_uYi-FOH2ndsW7e14wBIvJV_CWXpx6rgYwtS3rjHOH6LT6QRtCXlvy3mgZlWKHn8QRnEk3c8apqSs2qT0zqq/s320/_DSC0172.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Not the best picture, but then you take the piece you just cut out and cut out another one just like it! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You should now have four pieces cut out. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxWmMZs8OeU8l6DDwlxO5Pv7GluwxQ-s5177Zmb5eeYJ_F59p1ZcSqDkRO0rdiaDr4CytD7EFEPhAOK3fjC-CRyuW1m9ZOyBJ-aW__adpd5a9oRKYKHXXiwBwmGe80Jwe_E9yrf_Rlq7pG/s1600/_DSC0174.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1064" data-original-width="1600" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxWmMZs8OeU8l6DDwlxO5Pv7GluwxQ-s5177Zmb5eeYJ_F59p1ZcSqDkRO0rdiaDr4CytD7EFEPhAOK3fjC-CRyuW1m9ZOyBJ-aW__adpd5a9oRKYKHXXiwBwmGe80Jwe_E9yrf_Rlq7pG/s320/_DSC0174.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There are two panes shown, but there are actually four! When you cut them out your material was folded. I hope that makes sense! :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Step 3~Sewing! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now comes the fun part, sewing them together! You are going to sew along the inseam first, the curved part. :) Do this with both of your pieces. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSUNmxRz-02PsZVyFQv7-E7ga2O6ccW6hy7N7Rb38VzZhDp8HtpVSopOQqNe0fTcaXua2A6fV9NW4Krj4jVJc72sZBpLsk-eihH7XKpwAPJacnYbtN6h4VwowdYJg-hsGjRLXbSjoq2c-7/s1600/_DSC0175.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1064" data-original-width="1600" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSUNmxRz-02PsZVyFQv7-E7ga2O6ccW6hy7N7Rb38VzZhDp8HtpVSopOQqNe0fTcaXua2A6fV9NW4Krj4jVJc72sZBpLsk-eihH7XKpwAPJacnYbtN6h4VwowdYJg-hsGjRLXbSjoq2c-7/s320/_DSC0175.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I use a zigzag stitch. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now you put the two pieces together. You need to put the right sides together. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJL3P9zlzgbIQXTYqy8JcHAKH0saYcjIv_Ds0r5ioOuRKk5s-0fTNtm4cQVIQq8Vf7uK7Z2I8qEWLhi0YpXwi8D0jP1QjrNCAZ0vLbasA9ysS-YPWWIlW65to62bYQufSiAHnSYM9UeKc9/s1600/_DSC0178.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1064" data-original-width="1600" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJL3P9zlzgbIQXTYqy8JcHAKH0saYcjIv_Ds0r5ioOuRKk5s-0fTNtm4cQVIQq8Vf7uK7Z2I8qEWLhi0YpXwi8D0jP1QjrNCAZ0vLbasA9ysS-YPWWIlW65to62bYQufSiAHnSYM9UeKc9/s320/_DSC0178.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

Now you are going to pin the legs together. Sew these first! </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After you have sewn the inside seam, you then sew the outside of the leg, do that on both sides. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now you measure for the elastic! You don't want it too tight, they won't be able to pull the culottes up if the elastic is too tight!:) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I then pin the waist band to be about an inch and a half. Enough room to run the elastic through.</div>

Today I'm going to start back my mini series! Tidy Home tip #3, the living room. For us, the first room you see when you come in the front door is the living room. So, I try to keep it nice and tidy. A side note, the living room is my favorite room in the house! I love all the windows! 🙂<br />
<br />
Here's my routine:<br />
<br />
My routine actually starts at night.<br />
<br />
I make sure everyone picks up their random things that get brought to the living room.<br />
<br />
I straighten up the couch cushions, and fold up the blankets.<br />
<br />
Then I sweep and mop. I don't mop every night, but just about.<br />
<br />
Now my morning/after school routine:<br />
<br />
Once we are done with school, I will vacuum the rug. It usually has eraser pieces all over it. 🙂 Then I will vacuum the rest of the room. And if it needs it, I'll spot mop.<br />
<br />
I then dust the coffee table and tv stand.<br />
<br />
It's that easy! I love waking up to a clean living room!<br />
<br />

Like I said yesterday, I enjoy cleaning, and the kitchen is my favorite place to clean. I know, odd duck. Here are a few of my tips for a tidy kitchen!<br />
<br />
Clean up as you cook. Don't let the dishes pile up in the sink as you are cooking. It's easy to get to where it looks overwhelming.<br />
<br />
I clean the rest of the meal dishes as soon as everyone is done. I don't let them hang out in the sink.<br />
<br />
Only keep the things you use on a daily basis on your counter. It keeps them clutter free and makes cleaning them a lot easier.<br />
<br />
I try to remember to wipe down the stove top after each meal. It helps keep it from getting burnt on junk that is a pain to scrub. :)<br />
<br />
I clean the counter tops after the dishes have been done and put away. That a way, I have a nice clean surface to come and cook the next meal!<br />
<br />

I thought it would be fun to do a little mini series on a tidy home. *Disclaimer* No, my home isn't always in perfect order, we do live in it.* But I do strive to keep four areas of my house presentable. Those are: the kitchen, the living room, the bathroom, and the laundry area. I'm an odd duck, I actually really enjoy cleaning, I find it relaxing, and a good destresser.<br />
<br />
Today I wanted to share how I stay on top of laundry. To me, laundry is one of the easiest household chores to keep up with. Especially if you have a good system down. For us, we have one laundry basket for the five of us. I find that having more than one basket makes it easier for it to pile up. It sits right in front of the washer. Once the basket is full, usually every other day or every three days, I simply wash what's there. I make sure to fold right out of the dryer, so that a mound of clean clothes doesn't take over! Easy peasy!<br />
<br />
Next I'll cover how I keep my kitchen tidy.<br />

I feel a little silly that in the two years we've been in here in Hungary, I've never really given any info about Hungary! Silly, right?! :) So, I thought I would do a little mini series on Hungary tidbits. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Let's start out with the country as a whole, then I'll break it down by major cities.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The Capital is Budapest. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hungary covers a land area of 35,920 sq mi. (93,030 sq, kilometers)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(a little smaller than Indiana) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hungary was under communism until 1989.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The population is almost 10 million people.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Catholicism and the Reformed churches are the two major religions. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hungarian, <i>magyar </i>is the official language. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hungary is part of Central Europe on the Carpathian Basin.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hungarians can trace their lineage back to Mongolia. You can even still met some Atilla's every once in a while. :) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

WELCOME TO 2018! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I hope this new year finds you all well.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We brought in the new year at church. What better way to bring in the new year than with Christian friends and praying in the new year. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We had a couple of firsts during the watch night service. Marty preached his first sermon in Hungarian! This has been something he has been wanting to do for a while. He was very nervous, but he did a great job! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The other first was Elijah preached his first sermon! He was also very nervous. He is naturally a quiet kid, so this was a big step for him. I'm pretty sure I smiled through his whole message. :) I was one proud Mommy! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We are excited about 2018!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We have a busy year ahead of us. Pray for us as we prepare for furlough. We have to be out of our apartment by January 19th. Then we fly out February 14th. We are looking forward to seeing family, friends, supporting churches, and the opportunity to visit new churches. At the same time we are sad to leave Hungary for our furlough. We love our Hungary home! We are looking forward to our furlough and then coming back to Hungary, and getting back to work! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thank you for praying for us! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

I haven't done a blog post since August! We have been busy with everyday life and ministry things. I thought I would give you guys a quick update on things things that we've been up to!<br />
<br />
In October our oldest, Elijah, became a teenager! I'm not sure if I have come to terms yet that I'm officially a mother of a teenager. One thing that I did this year is take all three of the kids birthday pictures. We had a blast!<br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Eli the teenager!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<br />
In November our youngest, Eryn, turned 10! Once again, a milestone birthday. My baby is in the double digits!<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Eryn </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
Also in November we were able to purchase our furlough tickets! We were amazed at how God provided. Marty sent out our October/November prayer letter asking for help to purchase our tickets. Within a few minuets we get a call saying that someone wanted to purchase our tickets! It was unexpected, but a huge blessing! We will be back February 14, 2018 until February 2019! <br />
<br />
We spent Thanksgiving with another missionary family here in town, the Carney family. We had a great time of fellowship and food!<br />
<br />
Each year the towns here in Hungary have a Christmas market where they will sell all kinds of goodies! This year our town of Debrecen has a Ferris wheel! We got to ride it and the view was amazing!<br />

At the beginning of December Marty finished his third semester of language school, with a 99% on his final! He worked very hard and his hard work has paid off.<br />

The rest of our year is shaping up to be busy! In this next week we have<br />
Mine and Marty's 15th wedding anniversary, Maryanna's birthday the 23rd, then Christmas! Craziness! :) In January we move out of our apartment on the 19th, we will be staying at the church here in town until we leave in February. So, with all that being said, I may not post again until we are Stateside!<br />

But, I thought I would share our homeschooling schedule. I like to have it on paper so I can see it. I also like to stick to the schedule as much as possible. I know some days don't go as planned, but having a set plan helps, at least for me.<br />
<br />
As far as curriculum we use Landmark. This is our 3rd year using them, and we really like it. <a href="https://landmarklfbc.com/" target="_blank">Landmark</a> is an affordable, King James Bible homeschool curriculum. They also have where you can enroll your children in the academy, and have them keep up with your kids school records. <br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This year I have a 5th,6th,and a 7th grader! </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This was too funny! </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Okay, back to the schedule! </div>
<br />
I'm up by 6, and between 6-6:30ish I have my personal time with The Lord. Like I've said a million times before, this is very important!<br /><br />
6:30-7~I cook breakfast.<br /><br />
7~I wake my guys up, if they aren't already up.<br /><br />
7:15-7:30~Breakfast time<br />
<br />
7:30-8~Morning chores<br />
<br />
8-8:15~Family devotions<br />
<br />
8:15-8:30~We get our school things all ready to go.<br />
<br />
8:30-9:15~Math<br />
<br />
*15 minute break<br />
<br />
9:30-10:30~English<br />
<br />
*15 minute snack break<br />
<br />
10:45-11:15~Bible<br />
<br />
*15 minute break<br />
<br />
11:30-12~Science<br />
<br />
*1 hour lunch break<br />
<br />
1-1:30~Literature<br />
<br />
*15 minute break<br />
<br />
1:45-2:15~History<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is the schedule we try to stick with. It works great for us! I will add that the times listed here are teaching times and when they work on their lessons. I set a timer and when that goes off, the class is done. Whatever is not done during the class time is homework. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />MaseyArnoldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00549850679360762634noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1467038804097692591.post-34121043270289720252017-08-22T08:04:00.000-05:002017-08-22T08:26:33.234-05:00My Testimony I was thinking the other about how I got saved, and I realized I have never shared that on my blog. I think it's important to share your testimony of salvation, so here's mine.<br />
<br />
<br />
I made a profession of faith as a little girl. It was one of those things, I did because everyone else was doing it. I was never convicted that I was a sinner in need of a Savior. I went several years leaning on that profession of faith.<br />
<br />
I went on and got married and we had our first born, Eli. In February 2005, we were having revival at our church, Bro. Jack Parchman was preaching. I had been under conviction all week. I was miserable! Marty kept asking me to tell him my testimony. He said he liked to hear it. But, in my heart I knew it was fake. I had resisted and told myself that the profession I had made as a little girl was good enough. Well, "good enough" wasn't enough. :) I was married to a preacher after all. :) I had to swallow my pride, and admit I was lost and on my way to Hell. So, on February 22, 2005 Marty lead me to the Lord. There was a burden lifted and a new name written in Heaven!<br />
<br />
I'm far from a perfect Christian, but I strive daily to be what The Lord wants me to be. I would encourage you to share your testimony with others. It may not be a testimony of great flowery words, or a testimony of being saved out of all kinds of sins. If you are saved, your testimony matters. Share it with those around you, you never know the impact it may have! But, if you don't have a personal testimony of when God touched your heart and you admitted that you are a sinner on your way to Hell without Christ, I would encourage you to get saved. Talk to your pastor or a saved friend or family member that can lead you to the Lord. It's the best decision you will ever make! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Being weary is something that we all deal with at some point in our lives. Be it physically, emotionally, or spiritually.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I looked up the meaning of weary, Here it is: feeling or showing extreme tiredness, especially as a result of excessive exertion. I know as a wife and mom it's easy to become weary. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So, let me talk to the wives and mommies for a little bit. :) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Okay momma! I'm sure many of you have fallen into bed many times utterly and totally wore out. It comes with the territory. :) You go through your day wearing many "hats". Mommy, chef, boo-boo kisser, referee, house cleaner, teacher and so much more. I've been a mommy for almost 13 years. Wow! Crazy to think my oldest will be a teen in two months! Anyway, I'm no where near an expert!! Please don't think that! :) I learn all the time. But a few things that I have learned along the journey of motherhood. And yes, it's an amazing journey. So, a few things you have probably already heard them, but here we go! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisgiN3elzl5Jw-uXj0zHOBppl4Z8_0bjOaDHNcmW851cZL0sY56GQAUWWqockdlAt_xpi6RPT7m4nLKs4IhUAo-zV5dFK38AREVXpALpAx71bZuWRw-xRvNRTPxf143Z9Nn1a2iFWVXq0G/s1600/2307c130327799f72b12c7cb75e76cce--mama-baby-comic-books.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="231" data-original-width="736" height="125" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisgiN3elzl5Jw-uXj0zHOBppl4Z8_0bjOaDHNcmW851cZL0sY56GQAUWWqockdlAt_xpi6RPT7m4nLKs4IhUAo-zV5dFK38AREVXpALpAx71bZuWRw-xRvNRTPxf143Z9Nn1a2iFWVXq0G/s400/2307c130327799f72b12c7cb75e76cce--mama-baby-comic-books.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Just some humor to start this off! </div>
<br /><div style="text-align: center;">
*Take time with The Lord! This is very very important. We can give all we've got to our families, but be sure that The Lord takes the preeminence in our lives. It sets our mood for the day and our mood affects our families moods. On days where I don't get to get my morning devotions in, my day is thrown off and honestly, I can be grumpy. And when mommy is grumpy it has the tendency to wear off on our family. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*Take time for yourself. No, this is not you being selfish. This is your time to recharge. Even new mommies can take that time while the baby sleeps. The chores will keep while you take some you time. :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvx0d6RchOrIC3mhFt3Ryx9atvLDh76FgMZwp7-G4W86QyRAYiNpD-bYzh1V8odm7I1woV52GNbYdaeu4_RP6uDz_UPquNeneZ6iEzagRFROtsd6ocPHIoRp1eKDTDt3WX6MuIaCMPyG2p/s1600/sleeping+mom.jpg"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvx0d6RchOrIC3mhFt3Ryx9atvLDh76FgMZwp7-G4W86QyRAYiNpD-bYzh1V8odm7I1woV52GNbYdaeu4_RP6uDz_UPquNeneZ6iEzagRFROtsd6ocPHIoRp1eKDTDt3WX6MuIaCMPyG2p/s320/sleeping+mom.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*Give chores! This is one area that I still struggle with. I know, my guys are old enough to do many chores, and they do. But, sometimes it's easy to see a mess that needs cleaned up and just do it myself. But, that makes more work for me and teaches the kids nothing. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*Ask for help. Again, this is an area I'm working on. We like to think we are Wonder Woman and do it all ourselves. But, as I tell my family, I don't live in the house by myself, so they need to help. And my guys are good about helping. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*Learn to laugh. In life as a wife and mom, you have to learn to laugh even when you don't feel like it. When you've heard half a million knock knock jokes, heard the same story at least a hundred times, learn to listen and laugh.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*Take that time with your hubby!! You are both busy during the day, I get that. But try to remember that when the kids are of the house, it's you and your hubby left. Until then, take what time you can. Sometimes a full blown date is just not possible. But, you can take some time once the kids are in bed and talk or just curl up and watch a movie or a tv series together. Don't for get to talk to one another. COMMUNICATION IS KEY! If we never talk to one another then our relationship will never grow, and we are left with someone that we barely know, even after years of living in the same house. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These are just a few things that I've been thinking about lately. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Galatians 6:9a And let us not be weary in well doing:</div>

Part 1I've decided to do a little mini series on here just covering a few of my favorite things here in Hungary.<br />
<br />Today I want to share with you something we enjoy doing as a family. We enjoy taking a walk to a park called Nagyerdő. It's about a 10 minute walk from our house. We love it! So we get our exercise in along with some family time.<br />

Recently I have become more of a morning person. I enjoy my alone time with The Lord in the morning. It makes my day go better! :) <br />
<br />
My morning organization actually starts the night before. I have learned what works for me, so I thought I would share it with you guys.<br />
<br />
Marty and I are coffee drinkers, we enjoy our morning cup of coffee, or any time of day for that matter. :) I make up the coffee the night before so all I have to do is turn it on in the morning.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyx5waX0ucCrXDzjZzJM_0YyCkhOaUX0hn_z_Lx3liKFXZUudnZx4l7TmXqkrarLkCrTUePNI5MnCBfGw2jnb7R8JbJzpIa4gQ3RjSADmL4f3G1oqWxobmSeu2yqBlpPHP_cKISReqZn8d/s1600/DSC_0403.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1064" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyx5waX0ucCrXDzjZzJM_0YyCkhOaUX0hn_z_Lx3liKFXZUudnZx4l7TmXqkrarLkCrTUePNI5MnCBfGw2jnb7R8JbJzpIa4gQ3RjSADmL4f3G1oqWxobmSeu2yqBlpPHP_cKISReqZn8d/s320/DSC_0403.JPG" width="212" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The coffee is all ready to go! </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Another thing I do is to make sure my kitchen is nice and clean the night before. My day goes so much smoother if I wake up to a clean kitchen. I think it's just mental but I feel overwhelmed when my kitchen is dirty. :) It doesn't take that much time to keep the kitchen clean. At the end of the night I make sure the sink is clear, the counters are wiped down and the floor is swept.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHnrbLygHQh1tMWoIVF3uqJysik_7DjpKruqEtNB9i7cgnmGEh7BLPmhHDMfGH9S0yd9Q_ac32N49NIxIqFa0SjHjZ-XBIhyphenhyphenjqPnglDBgmkfOJViocR1MZmt91aH1SsjPCVhp1qOBjq2eN/s1600/DSC_0402.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1064" data-original-width="1600" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHnrbLygHQh1tMWoIVF3uqJysik_7DjpKruqEtNB9i7cgnmGEh7BLPmhHDMfGH9S0yd9Q_ac32N49NIxIqFa0SjHjZ-XBIhyphenhyphenjqPnglDBgmkfOJViocR1MZmt91aH1SsjPCVhp1qOBjq2eN/s320/DSC_0402.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">This is what my kitchen looks like right now.<br /><br /><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
If it's at all possible I like to make up breakfast the night before. I'll make muffins, or bread, or an oatmeal bake. I have an oatmeal bake cooking right now, and it smells amazing. :) As a side note, Marty doesn't care for oatmeal by itself, but this oatmeal bake is one of his favorites! <a href="http://apple-of-my-eye.com/2014/05/02/baked-honey-berry-oatmeal/#" target="_blank">Here</a> is a link to the recipe! I have to double it because my guys like it so much!<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjF-fBqMcmFTYdYV7OjDn3a0b88V9XhS2Y_5huyAqcacSX1vrCqeNNQRbblPLrCCP889GFChWFpimdimVzaTR-FVnypwhfNwWpGY6yaYicLADgN2-97uptmzCyoAFFYF8a_rsbQn8xyMCmv/s1600/DSC_0407.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1064" data-original-width="1600" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjF-fBqMcmFTYdYV7OjDn3a0b88V9XhS2Y_5huyAqcacSX1vrCqeNNQRbblPLrCCP889GFChWFpimdimVzaTR-FVnypwhfNwWpGY6yaYicLADgN2-97uptmzCyoAFFYF8a_rsbQn8xyMCmv/s320/DSC_0407.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Fresh out of the oven berry oatmeal bake!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
I also like to set out my clothes the night before. I know, that's simple, but it keeps my sleepy head trying to figure out what to wear in the morning. I put my clothes on top of the washer, so all I have to do is get dressed and get on with my day.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTxCfgpcurF3yOEMksC0KgSDk3DKpoyvntrre5LDaMEZvEe2VQY2oCyl6Bgu8T_J9u7uJAroTMjjYHmckkwoG7eYhbbiTeADARE5g-sayXYsbw2jqg9RH1CLU07ANDvE1iKZfzqjvh1t-h/s1600/DSC_0406.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1064" data-original-width="1600" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTxCfgpcurF3yOEMksC0KgSDk3DKpoyvntrre5LDaMEZvEe2VQY2oCyl6Bgu8T_J9u7uJAroTMjjYHmckkwoG7eYhbbiTeADARE5g-sayXYsbw2jqg9RH1CLU07ANDvE1iKZfzqjvh1t-h/s320/DSC_0406.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I like to keep it simple, denim skirt, t-shirt and a cute pair of earrings, and I'm good to go! </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
My morning routine goes a little something like this:<br />
<br />
6-6:30~I crawl out of bed.<br />
<br />
6:30-7~I get dressed, turn the coffee on, and read my Bible. Yes, in that exact order. :)<br />
<br />
7-7:30~I work on getting breakfast together and wake my kiddos up.<br />
<br />
7:30-8~Breakfast and clearing the breakfast dishes. While the kids get dressed I will go and fix my hair and do my makeup. I feel more put together if my hair is fixed and I have at least a little bit of makeup on. The makeup is a personal preference, and it literally takes me less than 10 minutes to do my makeup.<br />
<br />
8-8:15~We do morning family devotions.<br />
<br />
Then after that our day starts with whatever we have going on that day.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
I hope, in some way, that this will give you some ideas on how to organize your mornings. I would love to hear if you do any of the things I do, or hear any of the things you do to help your mornings be more productive.MaseyArnoldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00549850679360762634noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1467038804097692591.post-9628723123644748872017-04-19T06:59:00.001-05:002017-04-19T07:00:43.492-05:00Recipe time! <div style="text-align: center;">
My family and I are on week two of a 30 day stretch without sugar, dairy, processed food, wheat, and junk food. So far, so good! My kids did have a little bit of chocolate on Easter, I'm no monster. :) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's a cold rainy day here in Hungary, so I made some chili for lunch and I also made some banana and cherry "ice cream". My guys loved it! So, I thought I would share the ice cream recipe with you. It has no sugar or dairy. Let's get into it! </div>
<br />

Frozen bananas~I cut up about 7 bananas last night and froze them!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
Frozen cherries~I used almost all of the 100g bag.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
About a tablespoon of water.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

Add the bananas to the food processor. I added too many, so I had to take out about half of the bananas. oops. :)</div>

</div>
<br />
As I sit here at my kitchen table and think about this last year, I'm amazed at all The Lord has done this past year. Looking back I see when the Lord was working, even when, at the time, we couldn't see what He was doing. We've seen victories, heartache, pain, and joy.<br />
<br />
I thought I would do a quick year review with you guys. :) Those are always fun.<br />
<br />
We started our journey to Hungary April 16, 2016. We got hung up in Paris and had to spend the night, but that's a story for another time. I did get to see the Eiffel Tower all lit up at night, from the airplane! :) <br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Eryn looking at the planes in Paris.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
We made our way to Debrecen and got all settled in. Then a week later I got to see what the emergency rooms looked like. I sliced two of my fingers with a new knife. Thankfully, I've healed up nicely. The people at the church here still get a little nervous when I get around knives. :) <br />
<br />

We went though the summer months helping with various activities with Bible Baptist Church. We helped give the church a face lift with some fresh paint, we helped with the VBS, and we helped pass out lots of John and Romans.<br />

We started school in August, and we had our first visitors in September. Our pastor and his wife came for a visit. We loved having them here! And we are looking forward when they come and see us again.<br />

During their visit I lost one of my Grandmothers. I have sweet memories with her, and will cherish them. One of my favorite memories was going to her house in Florida and eating her homemade spaghetti and meatballs. :) Makes me smile just thinking about it. <br />

I was able to go back to the States for two weeks to help my mom out after she had a major surgery. I'm very thankful for that time I was able to help her out. I was also able to see my Granddaddy, Which was a blessing, because shortly after my visit he passed away.<br />
<br />
After Thanksgiving my sister-in-law came for a visit! We were so very excited that she could come for a visit. She is more like a sister to me than a sister-in-law. We love and miss her, and we can't wait to see her again!<br />

Marty and I celebrated 14 years of marriage last year! I'm amazed that it's been 14 years. :)<br />
<br />
New Years came and has gone and we continued on serving the Lord. <br />
<br />
As Spring has sprung here again and all the flowers are blooming, I can't wait to see what new things the Lord has in store for us this year! We are plugging along with the language and are praying about where the Lord would have us go and start a church here in Hungary. I'm excited to see where this next year takes us!<br />
<br />
Thank you for going down memory lane with me. I hope you enjoyed it. :)MaseyArnoldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00549850679360762634noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1467038804097692591.post-3691643969530283312017-02-16T02:28:00.000-06:002017-02-16T02:34:36.073-06:00Chicken Fajitas!One of the things I miss from America in Mexican food! It's my favorite. I came across a recipe for chicken fajitas, which is usually what I would order when we would go eat at a Mexican restaurant in the States.<br />

I also made some homemade tortilla shells. Which, to be honest, I usually don't do. I usually buy the store bought ones, but we ran out and we could't find any, so I made my own. I do believe that I have found a good recipe for tortilla shells. They were soft, chewy and warm. All the good qualities in a tortilla shell. :) They were also incredibly simple to make! <a href="http://www.food.com/recipe/flour-tortilla-recipe-204109?ic1=suggestedAsset|flour%20tort" target="_blank">Here</a> is a link to the shells, and <a href="http://www.countryliving.com/food-drinks/recipes/a37293/chipotle-chicken-fajitas/" target="_blank">Here</a> is a link to the chicken fajitas!<br />
