Homesick...

Today I have been homesick for Denmark. I know that we only spent a week there, but it's amazing how The Lord can burden your heart in just a short time. We fell in love with the Danish people all over again. Our desire, as many of you know, is to reach out to the Danish people as well as the Greenlanders.

In Greenland it was easy for us to overlook the Danes, and focus mainly on the Greenlanders. But they need the Lord as much as the Greenlanders do.

I was asked the other day, "When will you return home?"  It took me moment to think about that that question. Where is my home?  I'm sure most missionaries can relate.  I finally told them that we will be retuning in July, to Denmark.  Don't get me wrong, I love America and my family, but our hearts are in Denmark!

I found this on Google and thought it was great!!  (:

Mall of America!

We have enjoyed our time here in the North. We got to go to  Mall of America in Minnesota. It was so much fun! Maryanna even rode a roller coaster with me. She was the only one who would.  :)  They had a great Lego store there as well. Lego was invented in Denmark. As Marty would put it, next time you step on a Lego you can pray for us.  :D

This mall is massive!

It took 6 men three months to build this big guy!

My big kid enjoyed the Lego store too!  :)

Serve The Lord with gladness...

Today we are in Canada. We had a wonderful time at Bible Baptist church here in Brandon Manitoba. It is a very sweet church with a heart for missions. We felt like we were with family.

We even had a few kids that wanted to come with us when we left. As we were leaving our kids were yelling to their new friends, "Bye Brother, bye sister!"  It was really sweet! Marty told the kids that now they understand what it means to be a brother and sister in Christ.

I am thankful that I get to serve The Lord with gladness!

Serving The Lord with my family is AWESOME!

Out and about

These past few days have been great! We got to spend some time with some friends in Arkansas. Then we made our way up here to Illinois. We had a great meeting with a supporting church today, then next Sunday we will be in Canada. but for now we are relaxing in the hotel.

I enjoyed talking to the pastors wife. It is nice to be able to fellowship with godly women who are an encouragement to me. My prayer is that I can be an encouragement  to the ladies that I meet. You never know what someone has been through and sometimes the littlest things can be a blessing.

It has been nice to see the beautiful country  that we pass by. I love that America has such a large array of scenery. We left Arkansas with no snow in sight to Illinois with snow piled up on the sides of the roads. We are very thankful that the roads have been clear from snow and ice.

Please continue to pray for us as we travel this beautiful land!

Keeping a journal

How many times have you sat down to write, "Dear Diary?"  I did a lot when I was a teenager and when we were on deputation.  I was and still am not very outward with my emotions, I know that it can be bad to keep it all in, but that is why I try to keep a diary.  I have to confess, that it has been a while since I have kept one. But I started back again last night.

My heart has been heavy for sometime now, concerning different matters, and getting them out on paper has helped. Yes, I have taken these things to the Lord, but for me getting them written down helps me personally.

I know everyone is different and not everyone will keep a journal. But I encourage you to write things down. I like to write about something cute the kids did or said, or something that happened throughout my day. It helps on those days when I feel like the whole world is against me to look back and see all the wonderful blessings and also see all the times The Lord has helped in a situation.  So can I encourage you to keep a journal this year? Even if it's just for this year, I know it will help.

I hope everyone had a blessed New Year! And don't forget to write it down!
